Book Review - Miss Mayhem By Rachel Hawkins

Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins
(Sequel to Rebel Belle)

Publisher: G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers

Release Date: 07 April 2015

Pages: 288

Summary: In Miss Mayhem, life is nearly back to normal for Harper Price. The Ephors haven't surfaced since their attack at Cotillion months ago, and Harper's best friend, Bee, has returned after a mysterious disappearance. Now Harper can go back to the important things in life: school, David, and competing in the Miss Pine Grove pageant. But then the Ephors decide that they'd rather train David than kill him. This means that Harper has to come along for the ride, and she can't stay David's Paladin unless she undergoes an ancient trial that will either kill her or make her more powerful than ever.

My Thoughts: I liked this book. I didn't think it was as good as Rebel Belle but it was still a very enjoyable book to read. My favourite part of this series is the humour. Rachel Hawkins does a great job at making a lot of the situations very funny and entertaining for the reader. However, although I love the characters in this book, especially Harper, I didn't see any of them develop over the course of the book. This was quite disappointing considering character development is one of the best things to see in a book! I did enjoy the plot and it was nice to get back into the world of Rebel Belle!!

In my opinion, this series is still worth the read. I really enjoyed Miss Mayhem as a light, humourous book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for the same..
