It follows an eighteen year old assassin, Calaena Sardothien, who is serving a life sentence in the mines of Endovier. Then she is offered a chance to get out of the mines as long as she wins a tournament for the prince. She must fight against other thieves and assassins in order to win and become the King's Champion.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the plot was really interesting. The book contains action but contains some magic too. The characters are very well written and I would definitely recommend it.
