Book Review - Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman

This book is the first in Malorie Blackman's Noughts and Crosses series.

It is about racism but in a way that Black people also known as Crosses are the ruling ones and the white people, Noughts, are looked down on. It follows two people, Callum who is a Nought and Sephy who is a Cross. They have been friends since they were young because Callum's parents worked for Sephy's. Now they have to fight to stay together and meet in secret so no one finds out. A romance begins to build between them but it's not allowed in their society and it leads them both into danger.

This book was brilliant, the way it was written and the storyline was so different and interesting. The way she switched the roles of white and dark people was so amazing and it was so thought provoking for me to see what it was like for people at that time. I think everyone should read this book just to know what it was like for people back them but it is full with a lot of death and tragedy but so amazing at the same time.
